Mono — Spanish for monkey — for the nature that watches us from the trees. Fuego — fire — for what brings us together as the sun goes down.

MONOFUEGO es un lugar para ir despacio, un lugar para quedarse. Un refugio tropical con alma mediterránea, cerca de Playa Potrero, donde la influencia italiana se encuentra con el fuego propio de Guanacaste. Creemos en la calma con intención: el café sin prisa, las noches sin apuro y los espacios que invitan a conversar.

MONOFUEGO is a place to slow down, a place to stay. A tropical refuge with a Mediterranean soul, near Playa Potrero, where Italian influence meets the fire of Guanacaste. We believe in intentional calm: unhurried coffee, slow nights and spaces made for conversation.

Una forma que no vas a ver en otro lado: techo alto, luz suave y espacio para estar juntos. Dos habitaciones, un mezzanine bajo la curva del domo y una cocina amplia que se abre a la sala, para sobremesas largas. Y junto a la piscina, un baño y una ducha al aire libre para después del mar.

A shape you won't find anywhere else: high ceilings, soft light and room to be together. Two bedrooms, a mezzanine beneath the curve of the dome and a spacious kitchen that opens to the living room, made for long, lingering dinners. And by the pool, an outdoor bathroom and shower for after the beach.

Como en los veranos de Italia, el cine se ve al aire libre: una película o un partido proyectado junto a la piscina, con los pies en el agua o bajo el rancho techado, aunque llueva. Un aperitivo, una manta, y la noche sin apuro.

Just like Italian summers, movies are watched outdoors: a film or a game projected by the pool, with your feet in the water or under the covered rancho, even when it rains. An aperitivo, a blanket and an unhurried night.

Un solo grupo a la vez. Solo huéspedes, sin fiestas ni visitas.
El cine, de 5:00 a 10:00 p. m. Después, la noche es silenciosa.
Se fuma solo afuera del domo y de los bungalows.
Mascotas bienvenidas: máximo 2, no entran a la piscina, con cargo de limpieza.
Toda la familia es bienvenida, niños de todas las edades.
Entrada desde las 3:00 p. m., salida hasta las 11:00 a. m.

The cinema runs from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. After that, the night is quiet.
Smoking only outside the dome and the bungalows.

Sin llaves. Antes de tu llegada te enviamos por correo y WhatsApp tu código personal: abre el portón y tu puerta. Llega a la hora que quieras desde las 3:00 p. m.

¿Qué tan lejos está la playa?

Playa Potrero está a 1,5 km, 5 minutos en carro.

¿Necesito carro?

Te lo recomendamos, para moverte entre playas y pueblos. Hay parqueo para hasta 4 carros.

¿Puedo trabajar desde aquí?

Sí: escritorio en cada espacio y fibra óptica de 400 Mbps.

¿Aceptan mascotas?

Sí: máximo 2, no entran a la piscina y hay un cargo de limpieza.

¿Pueden venir niños?

¡Claro! Toda la familia es bienvenida. Un dato para planear: en los bungalows la cama está en un mezzanine con gradas, por eso no los recomendamos para niños menores de 7 años. El domo tiene 2 habitaciones sin gradas, ideales si viajas con los más pequeños; solo su mezzanine tiene escalera.

¿Es accesible en silla de ruedas?

Sí, el domo. Los bungalows no, porque la cama está en un mezzanine con gradas.

¿Hay toallas de playa?

Sí.

¿Puedo reservar una sola noche?

Sí.

¿Y si llueve?

El rancho es techado: el cine se ve aunque llueva.

How do I get in?

No keys. Before you arrive, we send your personal code by email and WhatsApp: it opens the gate and your door. Arrive whenever you like after 3:00 p.m.

How far is the beach?

Playa Potrero is 1.5 km away, 5 minutes by car.

Do I need a car?

We recommend it, to move between beaches and towns. There is parking for up to 4 cars.

Can I work from here?

Yes: a desk in every space and 400 Mbps fiber.

Are pets allowed?

Yes: up to 2, not in the pool, with a cleaning fee.

Can children come?

Of course! The whole family is welcome. Good to know: in the bungalows the bed is up in a mezzanine reached by stairs, so we don't recommend them for children under 7. The dome has 2 bedrooms with no stairs, ideal if you're traveling with little ones; only its mezzanine has stairs.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the dome is. The bungalows are not, since the bed is up in a mezzanine reached by stairs.

Are there beach towels?

Yes.

Can I book a single night?

Yes.

What if it rains?

The rancho is covered: the cinema works even in the rain.
